W. B. Yeats poem

Never give all the heart
by W. B. Yeats

Never give all the heart, for love
Will hardly seem worth thinking of
To passionate women if it seem
Certain, and they never dream
That it fades out from kiss to kiss;
For everything that's lovely is
But a brief, dreamy, kind delight.
O never give the heart outright,
For they, for all smooth lips can say,
Have given their hearts up to the play.
And who could play it well enough
If deaf and dumb and blind with love?
He that made this knows all the cost,
For he gave all his heart and lost.

My Picture

In this picture, I had to be about three years old. Most people can't remember what they had for breakfast last week, let alone when they were three years old. I'm just going to go by what the picture tells me. It was a proffesionally taken picture. This was something that my mom did when my brother and I were younger, not anymore. I was in a white dress. The odd thing about this picture, is that it's a pose of me painting. Who on earth, would wear a white dress while they were painting. On my face a smile, but not the one I've learned to wear everyday. The smile back then, was always real.

Since then, a lot has changed. I went through a fair share of troubles. Up until this year, I bottled my life up, and at times where I coudn't take it anymore, I broke down. Even since then, i'd say I changed. I learned not to bottle up all of my emotions, and it's definitely helped me a lot. I seem to be more carefree about things, and an all around happier person. I just hope that soon enough, I can wear the real smile that I always used to.

Mad World

People just don't understand,
They don't see through to the pain.
Under the mask of a half-hearted smile
This world will go insane.

As the world goes on
And people fail to see.
The hatred in the world;
All pain and misery.

A TV turned on
with the news playing loud
still people walk around
With their head in a cloud.

Reality is nothing compared to
the rumors that go around
Reality is forgotten, laughed at
And pushed to the ground.

Drip by drip and drop by drop,
The rain falls from the sky.
Children left alone and scared
With no one to hear their cries.

Young girls feeling helpless
When just one thing goes wrong
People argue about little things.
Why can’t everyone get along?

With the bang of a gun, a shot is fired
And a life is lost.
Everything that happens in the world,
All because a line was crossed.

Still people don’t understand.
They still don’t see the pain.
People shouldn’t hide behind smiles,
Because the world has gone insane.
